The Utah State Bar Banking and Finance Law Section recently named RQN attorney David H. Leigh the “2024 Banking and Finance Law Lawyer of the Year.”
David Leigh is a member of the Firm’s Banking and Financial Institutions Section. His practice is concentrated in bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and civil/commercial litigation. Mr. Leigh represents various parties-including secured creditors, unsecured creditors, official committees of unsecured creditors, and trustees-in chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13 bankruptcy cases. Mr. Leigh also represents plaintiffs and defendants in general commercial litigation matters, including out-of-bankruptcy workouts, collection litigation, debt restructuring, contract disputes, real and personal property liens and lien disputes, business torts, and professional negligence disputes. Mr. Leigh currently serves as President of the Utah Bankruptcy Lawyers Forum.
The Lawyer of the Year award honors an attorney who, throughout a distinguished legal career, has made significant contributions to major legal advancements in banking or finance law. This recognition may be for impactful work in litigation, transactional services, or legislative efforts, as well as exceptional dedication to the initiatives and activities of the Banking and Finance Section.

Mr. Leigh formally accepted the award at the Banking Section’s annual meeting on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, held at the Utah State Bar.
