Stephen Arroyo is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Section. Before joining the firm, Stephen served as a law clerk for the Utah Supreme Court, the Utah Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. In these roles, he analyzed complex legal issues, drafted judicial opinions, and gained experience in appellate and trial-level litigation. His exposure to a broad range of legal disputes, from constitutional law to commercial litigation, gives him a unique perspective on case strategy and procedural advocacy.

Prior to clerking, Stephen was an associate at Richards Brandt Miller Nelson, where he worked on general civil litigation matters, including business disputes, medical malpractice, trust and estate litigation, and insurance defense.

Stephen earned his J.D. cum laude from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School, where he served as Executive Editor of the BYU Law Review and was a nationally recognized moot court competitor. He received multiple honors for his advocacy, including the Utah Minority Bar Association Student Leadership Award and recognition as a finalist in the Rex E. Lee Moot Court Competition.

Before law school, Stephen received a bachelor’s degree in music. He has studied classical music most of his life and still enjoys playing the piano in his free time. He also spends time hiking, restaurant-hopping, and traveling.
