Cannabis Law
Skye Lazaro is an experienced corporate and criminal defense attorney. She is Chair of the Firm’s White Collar, Criminal Defense & Government Investigations and Cannabis Law Groups. She represents companies and individuals in all facets of government investigations, including political investigations, pre-file investigations, grand jury investigations and other government enforcement actions. Her focus on pre-indictment advocacy, which includes providing vital factual context and legal argument on behalf of clients, has helped numerous individuals – including several formally identified as “targets” – avoid prosecution entirely. Skye has successfully defended a broad range of criminal cases including domestic violence allegations, sex crimes, drug crimes, property crimes, DUI, white-collar crimes, homicide, violent crimes, and juvenile defense. Skye also has extensive trial experience, representing clients in over one hundred jury trials throughout her career- including some of the region’s most complex and high-profile criminal matters.
Skye occasionally appears as a guest co-host on KTalk AM1640 “Talk with Ted – A Show About Nothing” where she discusses a variety of legal concepts and current events.
Skye was included on the list of Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers Association (2018-2021). She was recognized in 2017 by Attorney at Law Magazine as an Attorney to Watch, and was voted by her peers throughout the state as one of Utah’s “Legal Elite”, as published in Utah Business Magazine (2018- 2021). Skye was selected for inclusion in Mountain States Super Lawyers (2020-2021) as a “Rising Star” in the category of Criminal Defense.

Personal Injury, Products Liability, and Transportation Litigation
Blake Biddulph is a Shareholder in the Firm’s Litigation Section. He has extensive experience in personal injury, products liability, and transportation litigation. Mr. Biddulph defends wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury cases on behalf of several large corporations, universities, and insurance companies, including local public utilities, oil and gas companies, construction companies, sporting goods retailers, and others. He defends numerous worldwide and national medical device companies, recreational vehicle manufacturers, elevator and escalator companies, and many other product manufacturers. He defends several of the nation’s largest trucking and bus companies in trucking and bus accident cases, involving fatalities and/or catastrophic injuries.
Mr. Biddulph is a skilled writer, researcher, oral advocate, and litigator. He has actively participated in and successfully tried multiple jury trials. Mr. Biddulph co-authors the Tort Law Desk Reference, Utah Chapter, and the Product Liability Desk Reference, Utah Chapter.

White Collar, Corporate Compliance, and Government Investigations Employment Law
Katie Priest is a Shareholder, practicing in the firm’s Employment Law and White Collar, Corporate Compliance, and Government Investigations sections. Ms. Priest represents employers in relation to any employment-related issue, and advises companies (small and large) on a wide range of business and employment issues, including hiring, managing, and terminating employees in compliance with state and federal law; defending against claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, and failure to pay wages; and on drafting and enforcing employment agreements and employment-related policies.
Ms. Priest also has significant litigation experience in state and federal court defending companies against claims relating to Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), and the Utah Uniform Trade Secrets Act. Ms. Priest also regularly appears before the Utah Anti-Discrimination and Labor Division (UALD) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) on behalf of companies facing claims made by current or former employees.
Ms. Priest also has significant experience representing clients in matters involving other state and federal agencies, including the Federal Trade Commission, Utah Division of Consumer Protection, and the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Also, she has experience representing clients in criminal matters.
Currently, Ms. Priest serves as a hearing officer for the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and has instructed police cadets on criminal and civil law issues.
