Jason P. Nixon is a registered patent attorney and intellectual property lawyer with nearly 20 years of experience advising technology companies on patent prosecution, trademark protection, and IP portfolio strategy. With a background in electrical engineering, Jason helps clients secure and enforce intellectual property rights that align with their business objectives and competitive positioning.
Prior to joining the firm, Jason served as IP and Product Counsel for a high-growth technology company, where he led global patent and trademark portfolio management, built and scaled the company’s in-house patent program, and advised executive leadership on intellectual property risk, freedom-to-operate, and product launch strategy. He worked closely with engineering, product, and marketing teams to integrate IP strategy into product development and go-to-market planning.
In private practice, Jason has represented startups, emerging growth companies, and established businesses in domestic and international patent preparation and prosecution, IP due diligence in mergers and acquisitions, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, and intellectual property litigation. His technical experience spans software, wireless communications, semiconductors, optics, medical devices, internet technologies, and related electrical and computer technologies.
Jason is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Utah Bar.
