Mel is an associate in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Litigation Practice Sections. Mel’s practice focuses primarily on complex damages analysis and financial issues arising in business disputes, with a particular emphasis on construction litigation. She also represents creditors in bankruptcy matters, with a focus on creditors’ rights.
Mel’s legal experience includes both litigation and judicial clerkships. During law school, she served as a research assistant to Professor Brook Gotberg, focusing on consumer medical debt, and interned with the United States Senate Health, Education Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee. She also completed externships with the Utah Supreme Court and the United States District Court of Utah. Following law school, Mel clerked for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Utah.
Mel brings a unique combination of legal and accounting experience to her practice. She graduated cum laude from the J. Reuben Clark Law School while simultaneously earning her Master of Accountancy.
