Stephanie Hanawalt is an associate in the firm’s Employment, Litigation, and Natural Resources sections. She earned her J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2022. Her practice focuses on labor and employment, commercial litigation, and water and land use.

Stephanie represents businesses and employers in a wide range of workplace and commercial disputes in both federal and state courts. Her litigation experience includes matters involving discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour claims, and other employment-related issues. Stephanie also regularly represents clients before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Utah Antidiscrimination and Labor Division. Her work includes defending claims brought under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

In addition to her litigation practice, Stephanie advises employers on compliance and risk management issues. She regularly reviews and drafts company policies and employee handbooks, prepares employment agreements, and counsels clients on a variety of workplace issues.

Stephanie also works on natural resources and environmental matters, including water rights, zoning and land use, eminent domain, and real property transactions.
