Paul C. Burke, a partner and the general counsel of the Firm, delivered a presentation on August 3, 2017 at the National LGBT Bar Association’s annual meeting, the 29th Annual Lavender Law Conference. Mr. Burke participated in a panel discussion titled “Saving Alex: Legal Strategies for Ending Conversion Therapy.” Mr. Burke was joined by Alex Cooper, Shannon Minter, and Xavier Persad on the panel.

Mr. Burke and Ms. Cooper spoke at length about Ms. Cooper’s escape from conversation therapy and the Firm’s pro bono representation of her to establish her right to live in Utah as an openly gay teen. Ms. Cooper chronicled her journey in her memoir “Saving Alex,” which was co-written with Joanna Brooks and published by HarperCollins.  (Image: LGBT Bar)
