Ray Quinney & Nebeker is pleased to host the Utah Minority Bar‘s Juneteenth Fundraiser Event . The event will be held at RQN – starting at 5:30 pm, Wednesday, June 19th.
The event benefits The Utah Center for Legal Inclusion (UCLI). UCLI is a new, state-wide effort to continue bringing focus on diversity and inclusion in the Utah legal community. Three RQN shareholders, James Jardine, Robert Rice and James Sorenson, sit on the Board of the UCLI. The UCLI and it’s Board Members are dedicated to promoting equity and eliminating bias in the law by increasing diversity and inclusion in organizational leadership and our judiciary.
The Utah Minority Bar’s goal this year is to raise $50,000 and help UCLI (and the legal community) kick off this important effort. Funds will be used, among other things, to: (1) fund diverse students’ costs for LSAT prep, bar exams, and other scholarships to increase the pipeline of students finishing law schools; (2) ensure that our organizations have proper and adequate training on issues related to inclusion, implicit bias, and other equity consideration; and (3) for community outreach efforts such as assistance to refugees and underprivileged members of our community.
The UMBA’s fundraising event began on June 3 and ends Wednesday June 19th – at the Juneteenth Celebration. Get more information here.
