RQN is proud to announce that our esteemed colleague, Sally McMinimee, received dual honors from the Women Lawyers of Utah at their recent retreat. In addition to being named Lawyer of the Year, she was awarded the organization’s rare and prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. This award celebrates attorneys who have demonstrated an enduring commitment to professional excellence, integrity, and the advancement of the legal profession. Sally has been a dedicated practitioner in Utah for over 35 years, and her career exemplifies service, mentorship, and leadership. She joined Ray Quinney & Nebeker in 2019, where she practices family law and litigation, and is the co-chair of RQN’s Women Lawyers Group.
Throughout her career, Sally has not only been a leader in commercial litigation and family law but also a dedicated mentor to female practitioners. As co-chair of the firm’s Women Lawyers Group, she has championed diversity and empowerment within the legal community. Beyond her exceptional legal career and commitment to mentoring fellow practitioners, Sally’s dedication to the community is evident through her extensive pro bono work focusing on families and domestic violence. Sally serves on the board of Utah Legal Aid and the S.J. and Jessie E. Quinney Foundation and founded a memorial foundation to assist low-income students at Judge Memorial in honor of her late husband, underscoring her commitment to service and compassion.
Sally’s achievements have garnered her numerous awards and accolades, including recognition in Utah Business Magazine’s Legal Elite and Best Lawyers in America. She was named the 2019 Family Law Lawyer of the Year by the Utah State Bar, and Best Lawyers 2023 & 2025 Family Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Salt Lake. Her dedication has inspired many, including her clients, colleagues, and the broader Utah legal community. We are proud to have Sally as part of our team and grateful for the positive impact she continues to make.
